Company background

Skilling is a CFD and forex broker that launched its retail platform in 2019 after Skilling Ltd secured a CySEC licence in 2018. The company was founded in 2016 by Scandinavian entrepreneurs and established its primary regulated entity in Nicosia, Cyprus. Skilling offers over 1,200 CFD instruments across forex, shares, indices, commodities and cryptocurrencies to retail and professional clients. In October 2025 an investor group that also owns trading brand INFINOX announced the acquisition of the business, with the Skilling brand and CySEC licence expected to continue operating independently.

Fees and pricing

Skilling offers two live account types. The Standard account is commission-free with spreads from 0.7 pips on EUR/USD and a minimum deposit of $100. The Premium account targets higher-volume traders with raw spreads from 0.1 pips and a per-trade commission, requiring a $5,000 minimum deposit. Deposits are free, though third-party processors may apply their own rates. Bank wire withdrawals are generally free once per month; e-wallet methods such as Skrill and Neteller carry third-party percentage charges. A non-trading withdrawal fee of 2.5% applies if no prior trading activity has occurred. Overnight swap charges apply to all leveraged positions held past the daily close.

Regulation and safety

Skilling Ltd is authorised by CySEC under licence 357/18. European retail clients are covered by the Investor Compensation Fund (ICF) for eligible claims up to EUR 20,000, and negative balance protection applies. A second entity, Skilling (Seychelles) Ltd, holds an FSA Seychelles licence (SD042) and serves international clients outside the EEA with higher leverage limits. The Seychelles entity is not covered by the ICF.

Platform experience

Skilling provides three trading environments. Skilling Trader is a proprietary web and mobile platform offering charting, market news and one-click trading. MetaTrader 4 is available for desktop, web and mobile and supports expert advisors, covering around 200 instruments. cTrader is available on desktop, web and mobile with advanced order types, Level II pricing and cAlgo algorithmic trading across 800+ instruments. Skilling cCopy is a web-based copy trading service. A free demo account with a $10,000 virtual balance is available with no expiry.

Pros and cons

Skilling's main strengths are its choice of three platforms including MT4 and cTrader, a broad CFD range of 1,200+ instruments, a $100 minimum deposit on the Standard account, copy trading and CySEC regulation with ICF compensation. The main drawbacks are that all positions are CFDs with no direct share or crypto ownership, limited research tools relative to larger brokers, e-wallet withdrawal fees, weekday-only customer support and weaker protection for clients of the offshore Seychelles entity.
