What is NFA?
In short
The NFA is the US membership organisation that futures brokers register with, and its registration number lets you look the firm up.
A regulator licenses and polices a firm, and a register lets you check its record. The NFA, the National Futures Association, is the US membership organisation for futures and derivatives firms, and it runs a public register where you can look up a broker and its registration number. In this group it appears in the regulator field of AMP Futures, with the CFTC, where the NFA number is 0412490. FOREX.com lists NFA/CFTC alongside the FCA and ASIC, and Lime Financial lists FINRA and NFA. One number can confirm whether a broker is genuinely registered.
