What is Investor protection?

In short

The compensation scheme behind an account decides how much of your money comes back if the firm fails.

Investor protection is the compensation scheme that covers you if the firm holding your money fails. Every scheme has a cap per eligible claim, so the limit is the part to read: it shows how much of a balance the scheme would return. For example, 1822direkt sits under EU ICS up to EUR 20,000, Acorns Checking under SIPC up to USD 500,000 and Admirals under FSCS up to GBP 85,000.
