What is Inactivity fee?
In short
A charge a broker can make when you stop logging in or trading, which quietly eats into balances left untouched.
An inactivity fee is a charge for holding an account with little or no activity, such as not logging in or placing no trades. Brokers deduct it from the account balance, so an untouched account can shrink over time.
The spread across the broker accounts here is wide. Acorns Checking and Ally Bank charge no inactivity fee at all, so the whole balance stays put. AvaTrade and Avatrade Kenya charge $50 and $50 respectively, while Admirals charges €10.
Before you leave money sitting, read whether the fee applies per account, and how long the account must be quiet first.
