Founded means the year a company started, and it gives a quick sense of how long the business has been running. A firm that has traded through several market cycles carries a longer track record than a recent entrant, though age alone says nothing about cost or safety of the money. For example, 1822direkt was founded in 1996, while Aave was founded in 2020.
