What is Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin)?
In short
Germany's financial regulator, whose licence references appear on the regulatory details of German and European providers.
The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority, known as BaFin, supervises banks and financial firms in Germany. Its approval is one of the stricter marks a European provider can hold, and the reference number shows which permission applies.
For the crypto providers here, the reference takes the MiCA form. Bitpanda lists MiCA CASP 9845005X9B7N610K0093, Deutsche Bank lists MiCA CASP 7LTWFZYICNSX8D621K86, FollowMyMoney lists MiCA CASP 391200LUYJY880GPSY38, IG lists MiCA CASP 213800HFC5G4V293BN91 and justTRADE lists MiCA CASP 529900YERL5TV5YJCR45.
Under a European authorisation, you can complain to your home regulator too, not only in the country the firm sits in.
